Description: Collinsville Elephant Races early 1960s
Riders are Liz Davies, Lorraine Hoffman and Linda Tickle (nee Backhaus). The Lions Club with Pat Toohey as coordinator, organised the ride for Linda to raise money for Cutheringa Crippled Children in Townsville as part of the Miss Australia Quest. The elephants are turning around at the "Silent Cop" heading back down the street. On the left behind the elephants is the old Pioneer Theatre (now dismantled) and on the right is the former Collinsville & Scottville Co-Operative Society building (also changed over time to Denhams and now 2012 as Cornetts).
