Description: William John Bailey Bowen River Cup 1910 Races
William John Bailey died at the Bowen River Races on 29 July 1910 and is buried beside the Bowen River Race Track behind the hotel. William had summoned his family to meet him at the races that year and watch his horse Orthello, ridden by Bob Miller, race in the Cup. The horse won and William is holding the cup in the photo. Later that night William retired to his tent and died. He was aged 55 years.
