Memoirs Online is the online photo collection of Collinsville, a small community in Central Queensland. Nearly 10 years in the making, the complete archive includes over 20,000 images scanned and sent in by both present and past residents of Collinsville. Irwin fordham: Reguarding mr fiddlers grave on Collinsville site .I have been to it several times .when mining recommenced in the open cut in close proximity to the grave Darby Munro was commissioned to construct a steel frame over the grave to protect it during blasting activities so asuming it will be still in fair condition.you would need permission from mine owners before entry

Irwin fordham: Thomas Byrnes died on the 13 th December Local history has told me this grave is located near the old jacks creek pub Just over the bank from the grave are numerous bottle dumps mainly broken .stories from the past suggest this pub was part of the old cob and co route Unsure of this information as it is just local history

Russell Buckley: trailing reel trailer made at No 1 mine Scottville to carry spare cables underground at No2 mine and make it easier to reel up and bring damaged cables out of the mine

I tried to find the grave stone but now I realise you have it but is the body still on mine land we climbed through the fence but could not find any thing I am going to try to get the body moved to the cemetery next door and put my father his son there too

Band Man: Death of Mr C Prohaska Another well known resident of Collinsville. Cyril Prohaska, passed Fix this textaway peacefully at the Hospital on Monday morning last after a lengthy , illness, at the age of 61years. The deceased gentleman, who was born at Stelermark, Austria; had resided in Australia for the past 25 years, firstly in the Rockhampton district, and for many years at Howard, where he followed, coal mining and had, spent: the last nine years in Collinsville in the same calling. He had been a keen bandsman in his earlier years and had also been a member of the Collinsville band a few years ago a vocation in herited by his six sons, who were also members of the band, his eldest son, Mr L Prohaska, being bandmaster. He leaves a sorrowing wife and a grown up family of six sons and two daugh ters to mourn their loss. The funeral which was well attended, left his late residence at 3pm. on Monday after noon, and, a large number of his workmates marched, with the cortege. Mr M Davies read the last sad rites at the graveside.

Havilah, Byerwen and Birralee Stations? Gottleib and Elizabeth Hornung (nee Boer), first settled on Havilah Station circa 1860s. Would also be interested in any information on Normandy or Normanby? Goldfields, and a property at Rosebank, where Gottleibs daughter Christine settled with her husband Dauvt Fischer. Does anyone know where Rosebank was located in the Collinsville/Bowen area?
